My Story
Finley here. I was just rescued in the nick of time. I come from the Sunnyvale flock of wild conures, and somehow I got really badly hurt. I had massive head trauma, and a completely shattered wing and leg. Maybe I ran into something, or got hit by a car? I was just a baby and I was lucky to survive my injuries. I spent a long time at the vet recuperating after a big surgery and even now months later my leg still gives me a bit of a hard time and I hold it up more.
I moved into a foster home in October 2021 where there are other injured/wobbly wild conures and I have a great time talking to them all. I am an escape artist! I can work out how to open the food doors on any cage, and I like to push out the grate. I pull off my cage cover and I'm way too smart to put up with this stuck in a cage thing.
I like to take a bath in my water bowl every day around noon. I empty the dish so my foster mom has to refill it.
I eat Harrison's coarse pellets, fresh veg and fruit and the occasional almond. I don't eat seeds - I don't like it! I prefer nuts.
I tried sharing a cage with Emerson but he overpreened me so I've got my own place again until we can figure out who else I might be friends with.
