Black cats are believed to attract well-bred suitors.  In Italy, if you hear a black cat sneeze, it means money is on the way. In Latvia, you can be sure you'll have a good harvest if you find a litter of black kittens in your silo. In West Virginia, black cats are known to be the very best roommates.
