My Story
Ike has earned a couple different names from the volunteers who love him, but we like Ike, since he was found on Eisenhower Drive, and it helps us remember his roots. He is just the most affectionate and snuggly little guy imaginable, and surely has been loved at sometime before running away as a stray. He was found shivering behind a building, and we are so glad our animal control folks were able to get him to safety. Ike loves being a lap dog, and adores snuggles. Perhaps he is a Boston Terrier/ Pug/rat terrier, whatever you want him to be! He is not neutered and that will need to be done soon. In the meantime, he can only be loved more and more until that is scheduled. Seems fine with other dogs, and most likely would be okay with cats, too. He is a nippy little guy when it comes to certain handling. He doesn’t like walking on the ground and it appears he has been used to being held and carried everywhere. we are teaching him that a leash and a harness are good tools for a little dog to learn to use in order to become independent and confident. His Foster Mom will be working with him on bike, inhibition and helping him learn good house manners. Although he plays hard with other dogs, We’re not sure how much experience he has had with social graces and learning to know when a dog is telling him, “No. I’m done with you.” PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA.
