My Story

Meet Ember (aka Emmie)! ??This beautiful 2-year-old Rottweiler is the total package—brains, beauty, and a whole lot of personality. Ember is spayed, house trained, and crate trained. In fact, her crate is one of her favorite places—it’s her safe space to relax and decompress after a day of play.Like many Rottweilers, Ember is confident, loyal, and incredibly devoted to her people. She has an outgoing personality and a loving nature, happily balancing affectionate cuddle time with moments of independence. She’s the kind of dog who will lean into you for love, then trot off to entertain herself with a toy.Ember is highly energetic and thrives in a home where she can stretch her legs—she absolutely loves her fenced yard and would do best with space to run and play. Fetch is her favorite game, and she’s always ready for a round of tug-of-war. She’s also a power chewer, so she’ll need durable, “indestructible” toys to keep her happily occupied. She walks on a leash but can pull when excited, though she is not reactive to other dogs or stimuli. Ember is very receptive to training and is both food and treat motivated, making her a great candidate for continued obedience work. She already knows a solid list of commands, including sit, down, “in” (crate), place (elevated bed), “free,” and she recalls reliably most of the time.Ember currently lives with other large dogs and absolutely loves having canine companions to play with. She has not been tested with cats or children, so a home without small animals may be the best fit due to her prey drive.True to her breed, Ember isn’t shy about expressing herself—she’ll bark or howl when she’s excited or anticipating something fun (like meals or playtime). She also does the classic “Rottie rumble,” those adorable happy growls that can sound intimidating but are just her way of showing joy.Ember is looking for an active, experienced home that understands and appreciates the Rottweiler breed—someone who will continue her training, provide structure, and give her plenty of exercise and enrichment. In return, she’ll offer unwavering loyalty, endless love, and a lifetime of companionship. If you’re ready for a smart, playful, and deeply devoted best friend, Ember is waiting to meet you! ??***Ember is currently in foster. Please call the shelter if you'd like to meet me!****Hello! I am new to the shelter! Please keep checking my profile for updates as the staff gets to know me better! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict.***Ember is currently in foster.
