My Story
When baby Buford first came to the shelter, he was supposed to be on kennel rest for a broken knee. However, nothing stops Buford from playing! We put him in a covered kennel by himself with no distractions in the hopes he would spend more time sleeping, but he played with his tail. We made him a nest of soft blankets, but he climbed his door. We put him up above the other cats so he wouldn’t try to play with his neighbors through the doors. He stretched out under the side of his crate to play with the kittens in the kennel below! We put a blanket over that kennel so he couldn’t see them. He batted at the blanket until the other kittens played back. He never seemed to be in any pain or in any way hampered by his knee. Eventually, Buford beat us to the point we had to give up on making him rest and just gave him a playmate! This extremely playful and affectionate kitten was born October 2025. He is microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. If he is not neutered by the time he is adopted, he will be on the spay/neuter contract. While we will be sad to part with him, get your adoption application approved and Buford can be yours for the low low price of a free will donation. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****
