Chickpea is a 2 year old female American Red Heeler who is as sweet as she is well-mannered. She arrived at the shelter with her adorable babies - the “Bean litter” - and lovingly watched them grow until each one found a home of their own. Now it’s finally Chickpea’s turn to find the loving family she deserves! This gentle girl is wonderful on a leash and is happy to walk right alongside you, whether you’re in the mood for a relaxed stroll or a brisk walk. Chickpea has lovely manners, politely greeting other dogs she meets and even staying calm and respectful when encountering the shelter’s feral cats … truly a perfect lady. Affectionate and loyal, Chickpea has so much love to give, and dreams of a family who will cherish her just as much as she will adore them. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.
