My Story

Meet Holtzy  Named after legendary coach Lou Holtz—and just like his namesake, this boy is all about heart, loyalty, and being the ultimate teammate. Holtzy is a gorgeous orange long-haired male, estimated to be around 2 years old. He was found outside by a Good Samaritan who took him into her home until Paws Across Pittsburgh could step in!   Holtzy is as sweet as he is adorable. From the moment he meets you, his motor starts running—this boy is a professional purr machine who absolutely loves attention. The more time we spend with him, the more we realize just how special he is. Simply put, Holtzy is one of the most affectionate cats we’ve ever fostered. He isn’t an independent “do his own thing” kind of cat—he truly loves being with his people. Holtzy will happily curl up on your lap, follow you around the house, and soak up all the love you’re willing to give. His favorite place in the world might just be in your arms. He loves being held and will often relax so completely that he falls asleep like a baby while you’re holding him. If you’re looking for a cat who wants to cuddle, snuggle, and stay close to his human, Holtzy is your guy. Because of his gentle and affectionate nature, Holtzy would do best in a calm, quiet home where he can truly bond with his person and get the love and attention he craves. Holtzy is still settling in after spending time as an outdoor cat, and he will benefit from a good grooming once he’s fully healed from his recent neuter. But underneath that fluffy orange coat is an incredibly loving companion who is ready to devote himself completely to his forever family. If you’re looking for a true companion cat—one who will be by your side, in your lap, and in your arms whenever you’re home—Holtzy is ready to steal your heart. Holtzy is neutered, microchipped, flea/tick/ear mite treated, and negative for FIV, FeLV, and heartworm.  He will be available for adoption on or after 3/17/2026 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA 15144, KL #16182.
