My Story

Hi there. My name is Bella, and if you’re looking for a professional snuggler with a heart the size of a mountain, you may have just found your girl.I’m what the humans call a “giant lovebug,” which basically means I believe life is best lived close to the people you love. I’m the kind of dog who leans in for hugs, sneaks in gentle kisses, and happily parks myself right by your side on the couch. If you sit down, there’s a very good chance I’ll be right there with you, ready to keep you company.I actually started my journey here many years ago when my brother and I were adopted together. We had a home for a long time, but in August 2025 our family had some medical issues and had to bring us back to the shelter. After that I spent some time in a foster home where I did wonderfully, and then my brother and I each found new families of our own. Sadly, after a couple of months my new family realized they didn’t quite have the time for a dog, so back I came. Everyone here is very kind and I’m happy to see my shelter friends again, but I’m really hoping the next home I find will be my forever one.If you meet me, you’ll quickly learn that I’m a friendly, affectionate, and very sweet girl. I’ve lived with children both very young and older, and I’ve done a great job being patient even when the little ones get a bit energetic. I’m housebroken and crate trained, and in my first home I even had professional basic training. I know my manners, though I do get a little excited when I meet new people. What can I say? I just think new friends are the best thing ever.I’m also an excellent travel buddy. I enjoy car rides, especially when they lead to fun places like the vet or the groomer, because those visits usually mean lots of attention and compliments about what a good girl I am. I take it all in stride. When it’s time to play, I love chasing and pouncing on toys, chewing on a good Kong or bone, and playing a nice game of fetch. I’m also perfectly happy entertaining myself with my toys when you’re busy. But when playtime is over, I’m more than ready to switch into full couch-potato mode and settle in for some quality snuggle time.More than anything, I’m just looking for someone who wants a loyal companion, a cuddle buddy, and a sweet, happy dog who will be thrilled to share life’s everyday moments with them. If you’ve got a spot on your couch and some love to give, I promise I’ll bring the snuggles. My name is Bella, and I can’t wait to meet you.If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict.I am a senior dog that is eligible for the Senior 2 Senior Adoption Program! The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neuteringAdoption fee: $95.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2025 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older.
