AOIFE

MEET AOIFE! (Pronounced `Eee-fah`)*Currently in a foster home*Meet the little Aoife. She is a pint sized goofball who loves toys, chews and stealing slippers. Weighing in at about 7#, Aoife is already learning how to climb stairs, get on the couch and is learning to walk on leash. She is very loving and happy to meet new people, but she may get nervous if you approach too quickly. She is currently being fostered with a child under 10 and several cats. She is extremely mouthy and needs to be redirected often with toys, but anyone in the home will be at risk of being chew toys for her. She is trying to learn housebreaking and has begun to whimper/cry/bark when she needs to be taken out, but she still has a ways to go. Aoife is accustomed to being crated when not being supervised and for overnights and although she may whine for a few minutes, she settles with a chew toy or just takes a nap. She likely would love to have a dog friend either in her new home or outside of the home for play dates several times a week which will help her improve her mouthiness and manners. Aoife has shown significant fear of water and hair clippers, but her foster family is working with her by using positive reinforcement with slow exposure. As a dog that will need grooming throughout her life, it will be imperative that Aoife's new family continue to work with her on that fear so that going to the groomers won't be traumaticizing. Aoife is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She would love to find her new family so visit the shelter to facilitate a meet!
