Hi, I'm Merida! Yes, like Merida from Brave-a little wild, very independent, and ready to choose my own destiny... which right now is finding a safe, loving forever coop! I'm a curious and adventurous hen who loves to explore the yard, scratch through leaves, and search for tasty bugs. You might say I'm brave at heart-I like discovering new places to roam and keeping an eye on everything around me. I may act like the ruler of my little highlands (also known as the backyard), but I'm really just a curious girl who enjoys a cozy roost, good company, and plenty of room to wander. A safe home where I can settle in and feel comfortable would mean the world to me. While I'm brave in my own chicken way, I still need humans to keep watch for dangers like hawks, foxes, and raccoons. What do I offer in return? Daily entertainment, cheerful clucks, and the proud presence of a hen who believes every yard is a kingdom worth exploring. If you're ready for a feathery friend with a bold heart and a lot of charm, I'd love to be part of your flock. The SPCA strongly encourages Adoption Holds to ensure I will be waiting to meet you when you arrive. The barn is closed for lunch from 12pm - 1pm.
