Meet Sophia!Sophia is a lovely 7-year-old purebred Moyen Poodle who is beginning a whole new chapter after spending most of her life with a backyard breeder. Now in foster care, she’s slowly discovering how wonderful life as a family pet can be.Sophia is making great progress and her sweet personality is starting to shine. She is treat-motivated (and takes them very gently!), which has helped her build trust and confidence. She enjoys spending time outdoors, happily follows the other dogs outside, and has been learning to walk on a leash.Sophia gets along well with the resident dogs in her foster home and has been comfortable meeting new people. She now sleeps through the night and has recently graduated to sleeping in her foster’s bedroom. While she is still warming up and learning to fully trust, she continues to make steady progress every day.Sophia is also quite smart — and a little mischievous! She has already figured out how to open a cabinet and might sneak a snack if food is left unattended.Sophia will thrive in a patient home that will continue helping her build confidence and discover the joys of being a beloved companion. Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match.
