My Story

APPLICATION REQUIRED from www.dashdog.org  Adoption Fee $450 - the fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE and is not specific for any dog or puppy; it goes to the expenses of the organization as a whole* OUR APPLICATION IS ON www.dashdog.org and must be completed in order to set up a meeting. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME!   ⸻   Wendy – Adorable Mini Aussie Puppy Looking for the Right Home   Adorable little tricolor Mini Australian Shepherd puppy Wendy is everything you could hope for in an Aussie puppy companion!   True to her breed, Wendy is very smart and eager to learn. She’s already responding beautifully to training and currently knows sit and lie down, with more tricks on the way. She loves working for treats and is very eager to please, which makes training both fun and rewarding.   Wendy is also already walking nicely on a harness and leash, which is impressive for a puppy her age and size. Because her current owner lives in an apartment, Wendy has had lots of practice getting outside and learning good leash manners.   Wendy’s current owner loves her dearly but is a student and has realized that a young puppy deserves more time, attention, and activity than her current schedule allows. This has been a very difficult decision, and we are committed to honoring the promises made to her owner by finding Wendy the very best home.   Because Australian Shepherds are such intelligent and active dogs, previous Australian Shepherd or herding breed experience is required for Wendy’s new home.   Wendy is already showing a strong interest in cats, so a home with kitties may not be the best match for her.   We would also love for Wendy to have a young, active male dog companion. He does not have to be an Australian Shepherd, but we are looking for a dog with similar size, energy level, and play style—ideally a larger breed between one and four years old who can keep up with her, play with her, and help guide her as she grows. A much older or very small dog would likely not be the best match for her energy level.   Wendy will thrive in a home where someone is home frequently and able to provide continued training, structure, and lots of love and affection—everything this wonderful puppy deserves.   A house with a yard where Wendy can safely run, explore, and play while supervised is also part of our adoption criteria.   We know we already have some approved applications on file for Aussie puppies. If you are one of those families, please text Sara so we can review your application for Wendy.   If you are interested in adopting Wendy, please complete an application on our website and then text Sarah so she can review it and follow up with you.   TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905   Apply at: www.dashdog.org General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.
