My Story

Date into Rescue: 12/26/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Rumor is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Rumor does have some dental tartar, as noted in her vet records. She will likely need a dental in the next 12-18 months. Weight: 51 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes - Rumor has never lived without a fenced in yard. Rumor requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Rumor has not previously lived as a typical household pet, so the ins and outs of home life will be brand new to her. She will need patience, gentle guidance, and consistency as she learns routines, house manners, and basic training at her own pace.  Rumor is searching for a calm, predictable home where she can settle in without pressure. Loud, chaotic, or constantly changing environments may be overwhelming for her, and she will thrive best in a peaceful setting that allows her time to adjust and feel secure. She would benefit greatly from having another steady, confident dog in the home to help guide her and boost her confidence. That said, a home with rescue-dog experience and regular, positive dog interactions outside the home could also be a wonderful match. What is my personality like? Rumor is a 4-year-old Standard Poodle with a soft, thoughtful presence and a gentle way about her that draws you in. She has a sweet, kind heart and carries herself with a quiet grace, observing the world carefully before fully stepping in. Rumor is the type of dog who forms deep connections once she feels safe, and her calm demeanor makes her a comforting companion.  Rumor does well with other dogs and is capable of standing her ground when needed, though she prefers calm, respectful canine friends and is not fond of overly bouncy young, spirited personalities. While Rumor often looks to more social dogs for reassurance, she is also able to build confidence on her own as trust grows. She has been groomed and is comfortable on the grooming table, making ongoing coat care a positive and manageable experience. How do I act when I first meet new people? Rumor can be timid at first. With understanding adopters, a steady routine, and plenty of compassion, Rumor has the potential to blossom into a deeply loyal, loving companion who quietly becomes your constant shadow.  Other tips and tidbits: Rumor's birthday is 07/24/2021 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
