My Story
Our rather serious looking boy Henry Is a charming 5 year old Frenchie who is approximately 25 pounds and a truly playful little "clown" with surprisingly high bursts of energy. He has a sharp and brilliant mind that is highly motivated by treats and playtime. This boy is a true lover boy that is a great cuddler. His favorite pasttime is to relax next to his human on the couch and zone as everyone destressed from the day. He is fully crate trained and enjoys sleeping in his crate on his special dog bed at night or next to his humans. Henry does like to play with other dogs. In fact he enjoys their company and being a part of a pack of dogs. Our only downside about Henry is that he needs to be fed separately from the other dogs. Often just being fed in his crate and making sure all other dogs have eaten before letting him out is all you need to do to avoid any food possessiveness. He is fine with people around his food but he thinks all other dogs MUST be wanting to get to his food....even if they don't. If there are other dogs in the home the new adopter just needs to monitor dinnertime. Otherwise, he can definitely thrive in a household with other animals and with someone who is patience and willing to work with him during dinnertime. Frenchie are smart and strong-willed dogs. They are not for softie owners or they will get run over by a dog that wants to control you. He is good with following commands and if you are a leader then he will be the best dog. The commands he knows are stop, sit, wait, outside and go to your crate. Our Henry is a happy boy despite some instability the past 5 years. He doesn't have very much leash experience and you will have to work on that which is not hard to do. With daily practice he will get there. Henry has no emotional issues or "damage" to his soul. He just needs a person to call his own forever and ever. Could that be you!? Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com He is currently fostered in Tennessee and can ride up on the certified animal transport van on March 20th to the northeastern region. PLEASE NOTE: Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted. Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.
