My Story

Meet Dorito! He is an approximately 2 years old  Papillon - Chihuahua mix.    Dorito was rescued from a hoarding situation and is now in a foster home.  This is what the foster mom wrote about him: I’m Dorito. I’m a happy young guy. My foster mom says I am super smart and I learn quickly. My first few years of my life were rough and I didn’t have much human contact. So I am a bit shy at first and am still learning it’s OK to be loved. I smile a lot and want to be wherever my people are. I will happily lie next to you in the kitchen or your office chair; I just want to be near my person. I am not yet a cuddler, but I think I will be soon. I am learning it is nice to be loved on. I am also learning it’s OK to be picked up, but I like to be asked first. I learned quickly to walk on a leash. And I am doing great with potty training. I sleep soundly in my crate through the night. I can spend time in my crate, home alone, without any issues. The crate is one of my safe places. I don’t yet play much with toys because I never had any before. I ride great in the truck and will be a fabulous travel companion. I am an awesome little guy who will bring smiles to your face and love into your heart and home.  All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered (if they are old enough) before they leave the shelter. If the dog is not old enough, you will be given a voucher for Animal Medical Center in Emmett to cover the cost of the spay or neuter. Please fill out an application if you are interested in this dog or call us today for more information.         Because he is in a foster home, please call ahead to schedule a time to meet him.         Pet Adoption League  1526 N.
