*SAMMY

Sammy's foster reports:`He was a very nervous and fearful dog when we first brought him into our home from the shelter, it took a couple of weeks for him to settle in and start really coming out of his shell. Pulling him from the shelter was definitely what he needed. We have been calling him `Sammy`, which is responding to and getting trained with.He is definitely a social dog with animals more than humans, he bonded with our own dogs rather quickly. He plays well with monitored canine socials, loves toys with squeakers and loves to run. He gets along with my cats. He will respect the boundaries of my more timid cat and plays well with my more adventurous cat. We are now working on training his basic commands since he has become less fearful with us and learning what is a chew toy and what is not (current affinity is for the tv remote). He walks very well on a leash. We are continually work on socialization with new humans to try to help him with his fearful nature. He is becoming a little more snuggly with us and will even jump on our bed for short periods to get head snuggles. Thankfully, he has never showed any signs of fear aggression, he typically just melts into the floor or runs away if approached too quickly. His confidence really comes out with other dogs around, so I believe it will be necessary for him to be adopted to a home with at least one other dog.`
