Shine

This is Shine. She's a "dove release" type homing pigeon that was found grounded & helpless. Staff at the Yolo County Shelter examined her carefully (thank you!) and found multiple serious puncture wounds. (Feathers hide SO MUCH & often people - even professionals- assume a bird that looks like this doesn't have injuries because they don't search through their feathers.) The Yolo County Shelter staff did an outstanding job ont only finding the wounds but also getting her started on treatment including antibiotics, wound care and pain meds and then they transported her all the way to her Palomacy foster!
