My Story
Kelly is the undeniable life of the party—the kind of dog who enters a room like she’s kicking open saloon doors and announcing that fun has officially arrived. She’s a young, busy girl with a heart full of joy and legs full of zoomies. If there’s another dog around, she’s ready to wrestle, chase, or kick off a spontaneous backyard Olympics. Her enthusiasm is so big that her entire body gets involved—she doesn’t just wag her tail, she wiggles from nose to toes like she’s made of pure happiness. Kelly loves treats, toys, snacks, games—basically anything that falls under the general category of fun. But one of the best things about her is that she knows how to turn it off, too. While she’s a high-energy goofball during playtime, she settles beautifully when it’s time to relax and absolutely loves to snuggle up with her people. She does great in her crate and sleeps soundly through the night like a well-behaved angel… who just happens to be disguised as a tornado when she’s awake. Kelly is also a smart girl and already knows commands like sit, come, kennel/crate, and potty. She’s currently working on her leash skills and will need continued guidance, as she can get excited and pull—but with consistency, she’s expected to do well with walks and outdoor routines. She’s friendly, affectionate, silly, and ready to make every day feel like a celebration. She would love a yard to zoom around in but doesn’t require one, as long as her humans are committed to helping her get her energy out. She’s the kind of dog who can keep up with an active family but also settle in nicely after a long day. Because she’s a jumpy, excited girl, Kelly would do best with older kids who won’t mind her enthusiastic greetings. She’s the perfect mix of playful and sweet—a joyful whirlwind who will wiggle her way into your heart and then happily curl up beside you at the end of the day. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***
