My Story

Karsey is a quiet and friendly girl, about 1 year old. Karsey's new foster mom says, "Karsey, goes by KitKat in our house.  She was very scared at the shelter, and when she first came home, more so of people than other cats. When I approached her while she was in her crate, she would let me pet her, because she had nowhere to go, but she was frozen in fear.  She never hissed, bit or swatted at me.   After a week in the crate to get used to the house and her two older, feline, foster sisters, I left the door open for her to explore at night.  She came out very confident and curious, curious enough to make her way around the baby gate blocking off the second floor.  She is very playful on her own but is still very wary of me (only person in the house).  Over the last few weeks, she has gotten more comfortable, she will eat while I am in the room if I am not moving. This week she started joining me in living room during day while I was working. She is playing and enjoying the view of the bird feeder from my front window. Her foster sisters are older, and they are all existing with each other.  A few times she has tried to chase and play with the smaller of the two, who wants nothing to do with it.  I think KitKat might be good in a house with some younger cats she can play with. I think she needs a person who is patient and willing to give her the space and time to learn to trust people. I think a home with no children, only one to two adults and a feline friend to play with at times would be good.  I do not know how she is with dogs.
