My Story

When people picture cats in a shelter, they often imagine playful kittens or cats playing at the front of their kennels as if to say, “Pick me.” But some shelter stories are much quieter. Some cats come from homes where they were loved, only to be surrendered through circumstances their families couldn't control. Fred and Daphne are two such cats. They are a bonded pair who lost the only home they knew, and now they are trying to survive each unfamiliar day here. Fred leans on Daphne for courage. He watches her closely, waiting for her to take the first to step out of their hidey-house, as if her quiet confidence tells him that maybe, just maybe, everything will be okay. Together, they find comfort in each other, curling up side by side, sharing the same bed as they nap, holding onto the only constant they have left.Daphne, despite everything, is beginning to let small sparks of joy back in. She’s recently discovered a love for wand toys and will carefully paw at them. Fred and Daphne don’t ask for much, just a safe, loving place where they can stay together and finally rest their hearts. Can you make space for Fred and Daphne in your home? Stop by and meet them, we are open daily from 11am-6pm.Are you viewing my information on a third party site like Petfinder.com?
