My Story

SARGE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Sarge and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (March 1st) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!     Name:  Sarge        Best Guess for Breed:  German Shepherd mix  Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of January 2026         SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:  62 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! He has lived with multiple dogs in his foster home and did well! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home. Check out Sarge's adventures in his foster home on Instagram: @brookeandpups   Sarge is Looking For:  If you know German shepherds - you know what's most important to those Velcro dogs. Having their own humans! Sarge is looking for his own humans to trot alongside on those sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up! Making new pup pals is on his wish list along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed.   But above all he wants to know where he belongs, to be under his own roof, to be safe and loved. In exchange, he promises loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say?  Can you see him by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Sarge is doing great! He loves to play outside, and is eager to sniff all the sniffs. Sarge is also a natural velcro dog. He always wants to be next to you, whether you're cooking, working, or sleeping. Sarge is also getting the hang of potty training very quickly. All he really wants is a human to call his own who will love him endlessly.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
