My Story

STAR NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Star          Best Guess for Breed:   Lab and boxer mix    Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of January, 2026          SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   53 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other Dogs! Star is not recommended for a home with cats. We haven't seen her with kids, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home. See how Star is doing in her foster home by checking out her Instagram! @JJGFOSTERS    Star is Looking For:   Her forever home! This pretty sweetie has all that awesome young-dog energy to burn and she's eager to get her own humans for that. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures they can dream up - yes, please! Making pup pals along the way is on her wish list as well, along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. And at the end of a fun day together - cuddles. But most of all she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is Star the companion you have been seeking? What My Foster Says About Me:   If you meet Star at an adoption event, she might be a little shy at first as she gets her bearings, but don’t let that fool you! Once she feels comfortable, Star is fantastic meeting new friends, both canine and human. She greets everyone with a happy tail wag, her sweet expressive eyes, and an occasional kiss. She absolutely loves dog parks and easily adapts her playstyle to accommodate other dogs. She loves to run around and then suddenly pop up on her front legs, flailing in the cutest, most joyful way. She’s super smart, food motivated, and loves practicing skills like “leave it”, “paw”, “sit”, and “stay”.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
