My Story
Hello! I am a handsome guy that came to the shelter as a stray, so my history is mostly a mystery.Foster insights on Hambone:`Hambone is a very sweet and loving dog. He is a little hesitant with tall man, but friendly with everyone else. He pulls on the leash, but he can be redirected. Hambone is very handsome good boy!! He loves giving kisses to his favorite people!``Hambone is my favorite dog ever. He is just so joyous with everyone he meets. We went on a good run together and although he would stop to sniff things, he loved being able to move. If I ever needed to slow down to let someone pass or to cross a street he immediately listens and is well trained on a leash. The only verbal command that really worked was âcome hereâ, although he is a pretty agreeable guy. Have never heard him bark or show any aggression. Very tolerable of every person/animal we encounter. He really likes car rides and will climb around all the seats of the car he is able to get close to you and will definitely settle on your lap even if you are driving. I think Hambone forgets he is almost 70 pounds! He loves ear scratches the best and will definitely lick your face intensely to show you love. Highly recommend!``Hambone is an angel pup. I was so blessed to take him for a sleepover at my parents house who do not like pit bulls, but they trusted my judgment and were excited to see a dog. They loved him and miss him already. He is so well trained with sit, shake, bathroom, lay down, come here, and on a leash. My dad wrestled with him constantly on the floor with toys because he loves tug of war but never bites and you can immediately stop to pet and snuggle him and he goes right back to a mushy sweetheart. Meeting strangers is great too because he knows they are new and when interacting with little ones, was calmer. He gets extremely excited with the people he is attached to and does jump up on them after not seeing them for a while, be he is easily redirected and just wants to lick you. I melt when Hambone sleeps in my arms and asks for belly rubs. I love him!`
