My Story

Meet Dotty, the sweet mixed breed American bulldog with a Winston Churchill jaw and a need for a new loving forever home after her prior owners surrendered her because they were unable to care for her. She is around one year old and has many good years ahead of her. Dotty is a gentle soul who weighs 35 pounds, making her a medium-sized dog (31-60 pounds). Her coat is mostly cream colored, with a cute brown behind. Dotty is happy to spend time playing with canine companions and relaxing with both dogs and children. Dotty needs to be in a family without cats.Dotty is working on her house and leash training. It is important to remember that rescue dogs can have accidents as they become accustomed to a new home, family and routines. If crate training is planned, Dotty requires a crate big enough for her to stand and turn around in as well as lie down comfortably. Crates should be cozy, happy places for dogs to hang out and must never be used for punishment. Dotty does not ask for much, just a loving home and family to let her know she will be happy and healthy and also cared for as she so richly deserves.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Dotty is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours.
