Meet Agatha! Agatha is a darling little mini mare. She came to us severely foundered, with very painful feet due to neglect in her previous home. Through it all, she has remained nothing but kind and gentle. When you walk up to her, she greets you with the most endearing, little nicker that instantly melts your heart.Agatha is currently on a six-week trim schedule to manage her comfort levels. Agatha will require a committed adopter who understands founder management and is willing to continue working closely with a vet and farrier team. Her adopter must keep her on a dry lot and be hyperaware of her diet to support her long-term soundness and comfort.Despite everything she’s been through, Agatha is wonderful to handle. She stands well for grooming, fly spray, oral medications, and trailer loading. She is slightly modest about having her temperature taken but has never offered to kick. She just gives us a polite little scoot off protest, but can we blame her? We have gently set weight on her back (our mini “rider”, Sandy Pants – some jeans tied together and filled with sand to mimic the feeling of a real rider), and she did not mind in the slightest. While she does not appear to be trained to ride and riding will likely not be in her near future, she was careful and tolerant with weight. For now, her focus needs to remain on rehabilitation and comfort.Agatha would thrive in a loving, patient home that will continue her rehabilitation journey and cherish her sweet nature. She is the kind of little mare who bonds deeply and rewards kindness with affection. She currently lives with other minis and flourishes in a calm, low-energy herd.
