Meet Mirando — A Gentle Soul with a Heart Full of Potential Mirando is a sweet, sensitive boy who is in foster care with his brother, Gordo. Together, they’re lovingly known as “the O's." Mirando is still learning that humans can be trusted, and while that journey takes time, it is incredibly rewarding. He has already made meaningful progress in foster care—transforming from a kitty who was stressed by human touch into one who now enjoys regular petting sessions (especially when he’s cozied up behind the scratching post).Because Mirando is sensitive to fast movements and loud noises, he will do best in a quiet, calm home with patient humans who understand that his trust must be built slowly. He’s not a cat for a bustling household, but he's perfect for someone who values gentle moments, soft voices, and the magic of watching a shy cat come out of his shell. He still hisses sometimes (think of it as his awkward way of saying hello) but now he also plays, accepts treats gently from your hand, and shows off his progress with the most satisfying purrs. Mirando would be thrilled to go home with his brother, but would do alright being separated from him so long as he goes to a home with other kitty companions. When humans aren’t around, Mirando truly comes alive with his brother. The two participate in nightly “cat-o-lympics,” complete with running, wrestling, and impressive tumbling routines. Mirando often watches closely as Gordo is pet and cuddled, clearly curious and longing for that same connection. You can tell he wants to be loved—and with continued patience and consistency, there’s no doubt he will fully return that love in time.Mirando may not rush into affection, but every step forward feels like a small victory.
