My Story

CANNY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Canny and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (3/8) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Rockville (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!   Name:  Canny         Best Guess for Breed:   Lab mix Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of March 2026      SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  26.6 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:    Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Canny would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Canny is Looking For:   Her forever home! Canny and her brother Jobo are satos - dogs from Puerto Rico. They're ready to split up and get their own homes in the DC area! They're young dogs who haven't seen nearly enough of the world and can't wait to explore their new area on sniffy walks and adventures!   But you know what Canny wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved, where she belongs. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her down there by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Graceful Canny is a shy, sensitive little pup. She is great with my kids, cats and my dog her size and loves to follow her around, and is learning from her and copying her manners.  We are working on potty training and confidence building.  With a little socialization and training, she will be a sweet companion! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!
