My Story

NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 2/28/2026: Missie - female - 10+ years old (records that came with her indicated her birth year is around 2016 - but we feel she is likely around 14-15 years old) - 6.1 pounds - Pomeranian Reason for intake: Missie came to us from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter. She was an owner surrender. We can explain the story to an approved adopter. Once she visits the vet, we will post her likely as a hospice adoption. She is very sweet... and her life consists of eating a little... doing her business a little... and sleeping A LOT (as you can see by the picture the staff took at OPAS)! She's a gem and reminds us so much of our little Miles who was our mascot for over 10 years and who recently passed. How ironic she comes in the same month that we lost Miles. He must have been looking out for her. <3 NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
