My Story
Meet BMO, spayed female cat! BMO came to the Shelter after it was identified that the set up in her previous home may not be the best. BMO lived in a home with another feline who she did not get along with and resulted in fighting and stress. Due to the conflict with the other cat, BMO started to not use her litterbox reliably in the home as well. Her previous guardian decided that finding her a new home was the best idea to help decrease the stress of both kitties. Since her arrival at the Shelter, BMO has been reliably using the litterbox. She likely would do best in a home without other felines. BMO does have a history of living with dogs and coexisting nicely. She has been social with volunteers since her arrival and has been reported to be very sweet with people of all ages in the previous home. In BMOâs previous home, she was indoor-outdoors. That may be appropriate after a time of acclimation to her adoptive home. Adopters should be mindful that if she comes across other cats when outdoors, she may not coexist nicely. A middle ground would be supervised time outdoors, walking BMO on a cat harness or looking into a catio-type set up. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
