My Story

Meet Mona Lisa, the gray tabby girl! Mona Lisa came into the Shelter after a good Samaritan found her as a stray, lying in the middle of the road in the loaf position with cars passing by closely. A good Samaritan brought her into the Shelter so that she was safe and sound. Mona Lisa has been an easy going, friendly gal since her arrival. Due to her lack of street smarts previously, we would recommend she is indoor only in her next home to keep her safe. We don’t have any history of Mona Lisa with other animals. A home with other animals may be appropriate with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
