Gizmo

Hi, I'm Gizmo, a 27 year old Blue and Gold Macaw who came to Mickaboo in 2022 along with Tim, a catalina macaw. I was loved and well cared for most of my life, but when my elderly human became ill a neighbor was trying to care for us and Tim and I started fighting. I suffered a beak wound that became seriously infected, and after coming to Mickaboo the veterinarian treated my wound and gave me some hormone treatments. After this I started to feel much better, and eventually became well enough to move into an experienced foster home. My beak treatments continue to this day, and it is healing well.

As you can see in my picture, I'm a bit naked. The feathers probably won't grow back as I've been plucking for a while. But I'm happy and still beautiful, with luxuriant feathers on my head, wings, and tail.

I am thriving in my foster home; I'm friendly and gentle with my humans, and happy with the ambient company of my foster parent's flock. I love hanging out on my big playstand, jabbering softly to my foster family, and sitting quietly on my foster mom's arm while she's busy working.
