My Story
Hi, I'm Phoenix! I'm a 10 year old Jenday Conure, and I'm looking for a forever home. I love people, but I'm shy around fingers... I just don't see the point when I can fly to your shoulder instead! I love chewing on things (especially human shirts - maybe wear something you don't mind getting holes!), and making toys into little pieces.
I'll step up onto a stick if you ask, and I know how to say a few words - mostly 'Hello' and 'Love You', but I won't say it to just anyone. I love getting baths, and I love going with my foster dad to the shower and getting really soaked.
My diet is good (I mostly eat Roudybush pellets), and my foster parents are teaching me to eat my fruits and veggies. I love dried papaya and parsley in particular, but I'll try anything that my humans are eating if you let me.
Of course, you probably want to know where all my feathers went! I went through a rough period where my parents didn't have any time for me at all, and sent me away to live with someone else. I didn't get out of my cage much at all, and I didn't get any attention. I started plucking my own feathers to keep myself busy, and it's become a habit. Even though my foster parents are trying to convince me to kick it, it's hard! I still do it a little bit, mostly when they aren't looking.
If you think you might open your home and give me a forever home, let the conure coordinator know you're interested in Phoenix! You can see more about me at https://mickaboo.org!
