About the Tibetan Terrier
The Tibetan Terrier is an ancient, all-purpose companion and good-luck charm from the "Lost Valley" of Tibet, bred and treasured by monks and nomadic herdsmen for centuries as a companion, watchdog, and herd-driver. Despite its name, it is not a true terrier but rather a member of the non-sporting or utility group, known for its adaptable, affectionate nature, and distinctive, profuse coat that provided insulation in the harsh Himalayan climate. It is intelligent, sensitive, and forms very close bonds with its family.
