About the Shiba Inu

The Shiba Inu is a small, agile breed native to Japan, originally bred for hunting small game and birds in mountainous regions. Known for its spirited boldness, good nature, and alertness, it is the smallest of the six native Japanese spitz-type breeds and is renowned for its cat-like cleanliness, independent personality, and distinctive "Shiba scream" vocalization. This confident and sometimes stubborn breed forms strong bonds with its family but can be reserved with strangers.
