About the Shetland Sheepdog

The Shetland Sheepdog, or "Sheltie," is a small, agile, and intensely loyal herding dog from the Shetland Islands of Scotland. Often mistaken for a miniature Rough Collie, the Sheltie is a distinct breed known for its stunningly beautiful, profuse coat, keen intelligence, and gentle yet watchful nature. They are highly trainable, eager to please, and form deep bonds with their families. While bred to herd, they are sensitive dogs that thrive on companionship and gentle guidance. Their alertness and tendency to bark make them excellent watchdogs, but they are typically reserved, not aggressive, with strangers.
