About the Pumi
The Pumi is a lively, intelligent herding dog from Hungary, developed in the 17th-18th centuries by crossbreeding native Hungarian herding dogs with French and German terrier-type dogs. Originally used for herding cattle, sheep, and swine, it is known for its terrier-like character, agility, and distinctive corded or curly coat. The breed is vocal, energetic, and forms a strong, attentive bond with its family, making it an excellent watchdog and active companion.
