The Pharaoh Hound is an ancient Maltese breed, often depicted in Egyptian art, but developed on the islands of Malta as a rabbit hunter using both sight and scent. Known for its elegant, streamlined appearance, remarkable speed, and unique characteristic of "blushing" (nose and ears turning pink) when excited or happy, it is an intelligent, affectionate, and playful companion with a strong prey drive and a sensitive, sometimes reserved nature.
