About the Aegean

The Aegean Cat is a natural breed originating from the Cycladic Islands of Greece, developed without human selective breeding. As one of the oldest cat breeds in the world, it is known for its robust health, semi-longhair coat, and distinctive bicolor or tricolor patterns, always including white. These cats are sociable, intelligent, and excellent hunters, having adapted to a coastal life often shared with fishermen. They are friendly, communicative, and form strong bonds with their human families.
