About the Birman
The Birman, also known as the Sacred Cat of Burma, is a long-haired, color-pointed breed distinguished by its silky coat, deep blue eyes, and pure white "gloves" on each paw. Steeped in legend, it is a moderately sized, semi-cobby cat that is neither as heavy as a Persian nor as svelte as a Siamese. Its elegant appearance is matched by a gentle, affectionate, and social temperament.
